Do you have what it takes to become a very successful person? Do you have the essential qualities and personal attributes needed in order to succeed? Find out three personal attributes of successful people in this interview between Dale Beaumont and Laurence Harrould. Take them on board and see how they can impact the degree of your success.

Combining his three passions of business, science and astrology with a love of working with people, Laurence has developed the Aviel brand. Laurence has also achieved diplomas in education, business information systems, orthomolecular nutrition, clinical ecology and workplace training.

What do you believe are the essential qualities or personal attributes of a successful person?

  • Focus – knowing what you want to achieve and keeping that goal in mind. Persistence is critical and this trait develops from believing that achieving your goal will have real benefits for you and is worth ‘hanging in’ for. Again, the presence of a coach is very helpful as it provides a regular opportunity to focus on yourself, your goals, habits and behaviours. How often would you spend time with someone whose only interest is your success? This is what will keep you focused & on track and is one of the many functions a coach provides.
  • Gratitude – no matter how much we think we can achieve by ourselves, we really need other people and a supportive environment. It is important to be grateful for the contribution of others and to understand that universal laws do work (the law of karma – as you sow, so shall you reap, the law of attraction – what you focus on is what you get), and to be grateful for the time and place in which we live.
  • Open mindedness – when striving for something (whether it is a tangible or intangible goal) it is very rare that it will come about in the way that you envisage. There will be unforseen challenges and also opportunities coming from left field. You need to be open to ways of dealing with these challenges and open to taking advantage of the opportunities.
