In fact oddly enough I have just spent the best part of a week over this problem.
I have over 6000 online customers now and turn over 7 figures with my online shopping cart. But nothing kills emails more or better than email Newsletters. Let me expand.
When people are in on Monday morning with 146+ emails backed up from Friday they are not interested in email newsletters and they don’t have the time to read them. We are all time poor nowdays!. Eventually they ” Create a Rule ” in outlook or whatever, that dumps all you future emails in either the junk or trash folders. That means even your good and worthwhile emails in future get lost.
Getting people straight to your website is definitly the goal.
So I have embarked on a three prong plan to circumnavigate this problem
1. All of my current orders being desptched contain a company mouse mat complimentary, it costs about the same as a google click and lasts months longer directly under your customers nose..Brilliant, even if they dont use it they finfd it hard to throw out because it is useful.
2. I am currently posting all 6000 a colour flyer with a discount coupon code incentive, the old mail may cost 70 cents a stamp plus envelope, but again it’s chepaer than google clicks and the sweetner is the discount, and old mail lasts longer than email.
3. Yes uploading content onto the websites certainly does pull traffic. If you have a shopping cart make sure to put 30 words into your “meta tag description”, as opposed to “meta tag keywords” that are now almost obsolete.
Reading Ralphs comment below below, he is old school, and with online sales , OLD SCHOOLS NOT COOL!

Your post seems liberating. I’d love to learn more 🙂 The merits of it seem reasonable … I’m keen to explore this further 🙂

Or your newsletter should contain high quality content.

I’m not one for writing cheesy emails, it really goes against the grain for me. Happy to write News items on my website http://www.pfinv.com.au or on the Pathfinder Investigations Facebook page. This dinosaur just needs to find out more about podcasting, LOL !
