We have an ongoing need for disinfectant wipes to keep our desks clean and hand sanitizer.

Classroom topics for week beginning November 2, 2009 ( 二〇〇九年 十一月 二日):
Systems Thinking: We will be sharing our contributions to the Thinking Wall by giving short informal presentations to our classmates.
Math: Data About Us Unit Test, Problem Solving assessment for end of quarter.
Humanities: students will begin preparing for writing an imaginative narrative. Generating ideas and developing characters will be our focus.
designing an inquiry with catapults.  Exploring the inquiry process:
1. background, question, hypothesis
2. materials list and procedures
3. collecting and presenting data (tables and graphs)
4. analysis and interpretation
Lesson 8 and lessons 1-7 review from text, practice song ue o muite arukou and hiragana song

Japanese: Study new vocabulary from lesson 8 of our text, plus review words from past lessons.  All new words and ten words from previous tests will be included on the quiz.  がんばってね!
Write each new word from chapter 8 once in both hiragana and romazi, due Tuesday, November 3

Humanities: Sitton Writing Skills take home activity #5, due Tuesday, November 3
Systems Thinking: Bring in an article, artifact, or idea to put on our Thinking Wall, due weekly
Science: Write 5 questions which include both an independent and a dependent variable.  Questions may relate to pendulums, boats, flippers, catapults, bouncing balls, and Mentos-Cola reactions.  You may also include a question you are interested in for our science fair, due Wednesday, November 4.
Bring at least one question to school that you are considering investigating for the science fair, due Thursday, November 5.  You may go to our science inquiry portal for ideas.
