Imagine looking at a picture of a tablet in someone’s hand and it has your website on it. Previously, to create an image like that could take a designer hours to find and replace the right image or you could attempt to take it yourself using a high end camera. Either way, they take time and money and this little tool replace both!!
So if you ever wanted to have your website showing on a device in an image, for either social media or some other purpose then make sure you watch this quick video!
Make Your Website Appear On Any Device Inside an Image
Now, the tool has got quite an unusual name. It’s called Dunnnk. The way it’s spelled is with three Ns in the middle, D-U-N-N-N-K. The actual website is dunnnk.com. Basically the way that this website works is that they have put a whole bunch of photos on this website of people using different technology devices, everything from watches, to various types of smartphones. Then, of course, you’ve got tablets, you’ve got computers in the form of laptops, and also desktop computers as well.
If you look there you can see that we’ve got these blue areas and that’s where you can use this tool to basically insert in your website on to those different devices. You can do it all in around about 20 seconds. It’s very, very powerful. What we’re going to do right now, with a bit of luck, is we’re actually going to do a live demo, so let’s check it out and let’s see how we go.
First of all, what you need to do is you need to go to your website. What I’m going to do is pull out one of my websites now. This one here is businessblueprint.com.au and what we’re going to do is, we need to do some screenshots. We’ll need to do a few different sizes and shapes to match the devices.
Customise your Screenshot to Fit all Types of Gadgets
This one here is sort of a wide shot, so I’m just using my little short cut on an Apple device, which is Command+Shift+4, and then I cut the screen out. Now what I’m going to do, because I have a responsive website, and we can talk all about why you need to have a responsive website in another video, what we’re going to do now is, we’re going to shrink the screen to make it more of a size which is more like what you’d see on an iPad. We can bend it into shape there so that’s about an iPad shape. What we’re going to do is we’re going to do another screenshot like so. I’m just going to do that screenshot, and that’s just going to pop onto my desktop. The final one we do will be in the shape of an actual smartphone, so I’m just going to now estimate what the smartphone shape will be.
D-U-N-N-N-K Your way through any accessible Gadget
If it’s not quite right you’ll see how you can fix this later on. What we’re going to do now is just do a quick screenshot of that, so I’m just going to again do my final screenshot, and this is to put my website onto a phone. Okay, now with those screenshots in place what I’m going to do is make the website bigger again, and then I’m going to head over to dunnnk.com. You remember that’s D-U-N-N-N-K.com. Alright, so what I’m going to do here, as you can see, I can click on the top to see different images that I may wish to use. What we have here is we have the iPhone, we have Android phones, we also have some MacBooks, which are laptops which look really cool, and then you’ve also got iPads, and even an iMac there as well.
Create Your Marketing Collateral in Less than 10 Seconds
I particularly like the MacBooks there. They look quite cool. You can see the coffee in the background, and I’d love to put my website in there, and I’d like to use it for social media. What I do is I literally just click on the image and then once you click on the image it’ll ask you to actually present your screenshot. What I’m going to do then is double-click on that. What’s happening now is my screenshot that I just did is being inserted into that particular screen like so. As you can see it’s right there and it looks beautiful, and within just less than 10 seconds now my website has now been inserted in. Now I could use this in any of my marketing collateral. It could be the cover of a brochure, for example. It might be a social media post that I might like to use saying, “Check out my new website.”
Download Your Mock-up, and Use It In Your Marketing Straight Away!
You can use it for all sorts of different things. I can see it right there. It looks fantastic. If it looks distorted for any reason, then you can see if you’ve made the image too wide. Then you might need to just shorten it a little bit; or if you’ve made it too short you might need to widen it a little bit, so there may be some trial and error here, but as you can see I’ve pretty much nailed it on the first go. Yay me. All right, so what I’m going to do now is I’m going to go download my mock-up. That literally is now downloading that image directly to your downloads folder on your computer. If I double-click on that now and open it up, there it is right there. I’ve basically now taken my website and I’ve put it into this device.

Normally I’d have to actually go out there and get a professional camera and set it all up, and that could take me hours to get the right shot. Well, you don’t need to worry because someone has already gone to all of the effort of taking all of these photos for you, just do a screenshot and insert in your photo right there, so have some fun, and just repeat that particular process. I’m not going to do it right now, but you do exactly the same thing on any of the other devices as well. If I wanted to do it on an iPad, I could do that as well, and if I wanted to do it on a phone, again, I just grab the image and I can just put it into any of these images right there. This is a really cool website that we have found, that we have used a number of times. Basically it’s very easy to use. You’ve just got to follow those steps.
