After more than a decade of working for others, Angela Connell-Richards decided it was time to start and grow her own business. In the first few years she says, “there was a lot to learn and I made just about every mistake someone could make”. However, through determination and a good coach, Angela found her flow and recently she achieved her goal of making $1,000,000 per year.
If you want to learn Angela’s secrets to finally crack 7-figures and build wealth, watch this video taken from our first-ever Business Blueprint Summit. By watching this video, you’ll learn the 7 strategies to grow your business and generate more sales.
- Implement the Rockefeller Habits
The Rockefeller Habits by Verne Harnish has helped thousands of businesses worldwide scale up to hundreds of millions of dollars. When Angela first started her business, she was a solopreneur. Angela knew she needed to hire more people if she wants to grow her business. Using the Rockefeller habits, Angela was able to develop a structure that helped her build a strong team. She had put team meeting rhythms into place, a clear business plan, set annual priorities, and quarterly rocks. Importantly, she got her whole team on board with using the Rockefeller habits and embedded those habits into their culture.
- Read Business Books
From technical, managerial, financial to marketing skills, you will need to master these areas in order to run a successful business. By reading business books and implementing what you have learned, you gain the skills you need to level up your business. Plus, each book enables you to learn new techniques that you can use right away in your business.
- Attend Business Events
Another way to boost your business knowledge is to attend business events and learn from the people who have come before you. Whether it’s a conference, free workshop or online training, these events give you exclusive access to people who have been there, done that, and built their own business. By working with them and following their program, you’ll achieve business success faster than doing it on your own.
Angela enrolled in the Business Blueprint program which gave her access to 4 conferences per year, weekly workshops, step-by-step training videos and hands-on support from the team. If you too want to access free training from Business Blueprint, check out our upcoming events here.
- Don’t Be Afraid to Raise Your Prices
Many business owners struggle with charging what they’re worth. After starting her business, one of Angela’s main goals was to add value to her clients. When the pandemic hit, Angela provided brand new initiatives like online training and resources to her clients.
However, after doing a competitor analysis, Angela and her team found out that she wasn’t charging enough. After careful consideration, Angela decided to double the prices of all of her coaching services. And you would think in the middle of a pandemic, this would not be a good idea. However, her clients opted to go to a higher package because they saw the value in the services she provides. When you really identify what is different between you and your competitors, and then put that in your marketing, don’t be afraid to let everyone know about it and raise your prices.
- Implement the Profit First System
Traditionally business owners deduct expenses from sales and consider the remaining amount as profit. With the Profit First method, it encourages business owners to deduct profit from each sale and use the remaining amount for expenses. If this strategy makes sense to you, then you should be practising the “Profit First” principle made famous by the book of the same name by Mike Michalowicz. Implementing the Profit First method was a game-changer for Angela. In fact, she is now training to become a Profit First coach so she can share her knowledge with other business owners.
- Surround Yourself with Like-Minded Entrepreneurs
Have you ever heard the saying, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with?” Surrounding yourself with like-minded business owners who are equally passionate about building a thriving business can do wonders for your business.
By joining Business Blueprint, Angela was quickly introduced to hundreds of like-minded entrepreneurs and she immediate started highly productive business conversations with them. Typically this leads to numerous referrals, strategic alliances and even partnerships to expand your business into new markets. Furthermore, many of our members go on to find accountability buddies or create lifelong friendships, which makes the benefit of joining the program priceless. - Hire Employees Based on Values
If you want to find great people who will help you grow your business, then you need to hire people whose values are in alignment with your company’s core values and vision. Hiring based on values leads to higher retention, lower staff turnover, better team collaboration, a more stable company culture, and deeper connections with customers. By hiring based on values, Angela found the right Chief Operating Officer who will manage her team so she can focus on activities that drive more profit.
Now that you’ve uncovered Angela’s secrets to building a 7-figure business, make sure to implement these strategies in your business. If you want more free training, come along to our upcoming event. Visit our Training page to reserve your seat.
